A Spring Elopement in Olympic National Park: Bekah + James
Bekah and James decided to elope on their 13th year anniversary in Olympic National Park. As locals to Washington, they knew they wanted to go somewhere where they could celebrate the vibrant rainforests and stunning coastline of their home state. While the spring season can be moody in the PNW, these two were up for any adventure mother nature gave us.
First Look in the Rainforest
They started their elopement day with a first look in the rainforest. When we made it to the spot for their first look, the light was shining through the trees making the landscape look even more magical. Bekah and James were so full of excitement to finally be getting married. I loved documenting their personalities and how silly and fun they were being with each other. Their love and excitement showed right away.
Vows at Lake Crescent
After having a moment together, we made our way to Lake Crescent for their vows. The Pacific Northwest weather was being generous and gave us a beautifully sunny morning with stunning views out across the lake. You can even see in the background that a recent snowfall had come through at higher elevation. I always love seeing the fresh snow on the evergreens in Washington!
When they finished exchanging their very sweet and intentional vows, it was time to celebrate with a beer. Bekah helps her family run a brewery in Seattle. And for their elopement day, they were able to bring a limited edition beer to celebrate! The beer was created with one of their cats faces on the label and some of the funds from the beer went to a non-profit. I thought it was such a fun touch for their Olympic National Park elopement.
Exploring the Coastal Rainforest
We then made our way back through the rainforest stopping and taking photos along the way. I wanted to take them to one of my favorite “local” beaches to help celebrate and enjoy their picnic. I’m always happy when couples are open to new locations! So a huge thanks to Bekah and James for trusting me with this quiet spot that I personally love to explore.
Low Tide Beach Picnic
We planned to be at the beach at low tide to explore tide pools, have more access to different areas, and to find a spot for their picnic. Bekah and James sat on the beach, listened to the waves, and enjoyed some of the best local donuts in Port Angeles. I love when couples really get to slow down and take in the moment together. It really should feel like a romantic and adventurous date together!
When they finished their donuts, we headed back to their treehouse cabin along the coast for a few photos (because if you stay in a treehouse, I’m definitely coming to take a few photos).
Celebrating 13 Years Together
I can’t thank these two enough for letting me document their elopement and helping celebrate their 13th year anniversary of being together! It was such a calm and quiet day exploring Olympic National Park. From the misty rainforest to the crystal-clear waters of Lake Crescent to the wild Pacific coastline, their day captured everything that makes the Olympic Peninsula so special.
