FAQ

Do you have vendor recommendations?
CAN you help us with locations?
do you help us with planning?
Yes—I provide curated vendor recommendations, timeline planning, and access to guides that walk you through the whole process. After photographing 200+ couples, I've seen just about everything and know how to shape each day around what matters most to you.
Yes—you'll get curated vendor recommendations for your location, including hair & makeup artists, florists, and officiants. These are all part of an Elopement Basecamp Guide you receive after booking—everything in one place so you can get started whenever you're ready.
Absolutely. With years exploring the Pacific Northwest, I know the trails, timing, and hidden spots that make for an unforgettable day. Based on your questionnaire answers, I'll suggest locations, help with any necessary permits, and we'll narrow it down together—so you can just show up and enjoy the adventure.

WHEN SHOULD WE REACH OUT?
HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
DO YOU DOCUMENT WEDDINGS?
You don't need everything figured out—most couples reach out with just a general timeframe and location idea. We'll shape the details together from there.
That said, popular months (June–October) do book up, so the earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we'll have with dates and locations.
Review the elopement packages and reach out to start the process. We'll set up a video chat to make sure we're a good fit and walk through your initial plans.
Once we have a rough location and date, you'll receive a contract with a 50% retainer to secure your date.
Absolutely. Even though I specialize in elopements, I still enjoy documenting weddings—it keeps things creative throughout the year. I have lots of experience with traditional weddings (that's where I started). Reach out if you'd like to chat about yours.

how many photos do we receive?
when & how do we get our final gallery?
do we get sneak peaks?
You'll receive 50–70 photos per hour of coverage, depending on how much hiking is involved and what unfolds throughout the day. Your gallery will also include black & white edits and Instax film photos—your entire day, fully documented.
Your gallery is delivered online within 6–8 weeks, where you can download, share, and order prints directly. It's guaranteed to be available for at least one year—I recommend downloading everything for safekeeping.
Yes—you'll get a sneak peek within a few days to share with friends and family. You'll also walk away with Instax film photos from the day, something tangible to hold onto right away.

what about bad weather?
How far do we usually hike?
do we need any specific gear?
I've worked in just about every type of weather. Rain often creates some of the most romantic moments—moody skies, empty trails, and a day that feels completely yours.
More coverage also gives us flexibility—if we need to wait out a storm or shift timing for a clearing, we can adapt. And if conditions ever become unsafe, you'll know your options ahead of time so nothing catches you off guard.
Most couples are up for a hike—that's part of why they book an adventure elopement. I usually recommend 2–4 miles, which gets you to stunning spots without rushing your day. Want to go bigger or keep it relaxed? We'll figure it out together.
You should come with outdoor basics: a puffy jacket, rain jacket, hiking boots, wool socks, and water & snacks. Temps can drop to 35–45° around sunrise and sunset, even in summer—staying comfortable means you get the most out of the day. You can check out my elopement gear guide for more info.

do you help with permits?
do we need an officiant?
how many guests can WE bring?
Yes—I'll walk you through any special-use permits needed for National Parks or reservable ceremony sites. I can't file them on your behalf, but I'll help with recommendations and ceremony details (you just handle your personal info).
I've helped couples navigate permits in over 15 National Parks—some of those coordinators I work with every year. You'll know what to expect.
For Washington, Wyoming, and other states, you'll need an officiant and two witnesses.
I'm an ordained minister and can sign your marriage license—one less thing to coordinate.
Most locations can accommodate 15–20 guests—that's typically the max for National Parks and backcountry spots. If you're thinking bigger, some couples host at venues or cabins for more flexibility.
You'll also get a guide to share with your loved ones so everyone knows the flow of your day. You can read my How to Include Guests Guide for more info.

how long have you been a photographer?
what's your editing style?
WHERE DO YOU WORK & TRAVEL?
I've been a full-time photographer since 2010 and have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography & Design. I also mentor other elopement photographers. After 15 years in the wedding industry, I'm still growing my craft each year.
True-to-color and natural, with a slight touch of vibrancy that reflects the feel of the day. The goal is photos that still look timeless in 10, 20, 30 years. You'll also see plenty of black & white edits in your gallery.
I'm based in Washington and specialize in elopements throughout the Pacific Northwest: Olympic National Park, Mt Baker, Oregon Coast and beyond. I also travel to the Grand Tetons and other destinations within my travel schedule. If you have somewhere specific in mind, feel free to reach out.
