An Olympic National Park Waterfall Elopement: Kelsey + Chris
Kelsey and Chris chose Olympic National Park for their elopement adventure, and their day was the perfect mix of cozy cabin moments, secret waterfall vows, rainforest exploration, and wild coastal beauty. These two embraced every bit of Pacific Northwest weather that came their way—rain included—with the kind of carefree joy that makes elopements so magical.
Morning at the Forest Cabin
Their day began at a beautiful cabin tucked into the forest by a river. The sound of rushing water provided the perfect soundtrack as they got ready together, had their first look surrounded by towering evergreens, and cooked breakfast side by side. There’s something so intimate about starting your wedding day this way—no rush, no stress, just the two of you in your own little world before the adventure begins.
Secret Waterfall Vows
From the cabin, we made our way to a secret waterfall for their ceremony. The location was absolutely perfect—tucked away, powerful, and utterly romantic. Standing before the cascading water, Kelsey and Chris exchanged the vows they’d been waiting to say to each other. The roar of the waterfall, the mist in the air, the green forest surrounding them—it was the kind of moment that takes your breath away.
Throughout the day, they’d brought letters from family members to read at different locations. Reading these heartfelt words at the waterfall added such a special layer to their ceremony, connecting them to the people who couldn’t be there while they stood in this wild, beautiful place.
Wandering the Hoh Rainforest
After their waterfall ceremony, we explored the Hoh Rainforest. The ethereal beauty of the moss-draped trees, the filtered light through the canopy, the ancient quality of the forest—it’s like stepping into another world. Kelsey and Chris wandered hand in hand, taking in the magic of one of the most enchanting places in Olympic National Park.
Rainy Ruby Beach Adventures
Then we headed to Ruby Beach for coastal photos, and the Pacific Northwest weather decided to really show up. Rain poured down, but Kelsey and Chris didn’t miss a beat. They were silly, fun, and completely carefree—dancing in the rain, laughing at the absurdity of being soaked on their wedding day, and loving every single minute of it. This is what adventure elopements are all about: embracing whatever Mother Nature throws at you and finding the joy in it.
They read more family letters on the beach, the rain adding to the raw emotion of the moment. There’s something powerful about standing on the wild Washington coast, waves crashing, rain falling, reading words of love from the people who matter most.
Evening Celebrations by the River
As evening approached, we headed back to their cabin to finish the day where it started. They shared dinner, had their first dance by the river as the forest darkened around them, cut their cake, and ended the night snuggled up in matching Mr. and Mrs. pajamas. It was the coziest, most perfect ending to an adventurous day.
Embracing the Adventure
Kelsey and Chris’s Olympic National Park elopement was a reminder that the best days are the ones where you embrace it all—the secret waterfalls, the ancient rainforests, the wild rainy beaches, and the quiet cabin moments. Their willingness to be silly, to get soaked, to laugh through it all, and to make every location special with letters from loved ones made their day uniquely theirs.
Congratulations, Kelsey and Chris. Thank you for showing us that rain on your wedding day is just another reason to dance.
